Community Searches For Suspect Who Killed Panhandler Outside Of Detroit Gas Station

(CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Police Department and members of the community are searching for a man who shot and killed a panhandler outside of a Detroit gas station.

Police say he talked to the victim, Denez Dupree, outside of a gas station located at Dexter and Collingwood.

Detroit police are looking for a male suspect in the fatal shooting of a panhandler. The incident occurred 10/03/2021 at 7:30am in the 11000 block of Dexter Ave. The suspect had a brief conversation with the victim before leaving then returning with a gun and shooting a single shot, wounding the victim. The suspect then fled northwest from the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. That was before he allegedly killed him in an execution-style manner.
