(CBS Detroit) – The mission at Sisters Against Abuse Society (SAAS) is to bring Hope, Help, and Healing to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault within the black and African American community without regard to gender, sexual orientation, religious or faith affiliation (or none at all), economic status, or culture.

The group was invited to speak at a memorial for Detroit Police Sgt. Elaine Williams, who was killed as a result of domestic violence.
