(CBS DETROIT) – A government shutdown was averted overnight, as President Donald Trump signed a new funding bill.

The bill keeps the government open through Dec. 11.

It was actually signed past midnight after President Trump’s rally in Minnesota, but no federal agencies closed.

The law ensures the federal government stays open during the pandemic and election.
