Step Back in Time at The Michigan Renaissance Festival

Enjoy a simpler time at the annual Michigan Renaissance Festival. The CW50 Street Team went back in time and enjoyed the sixteenth century.

The event brings out people from all over, even dogs are welcome too! During this yearly festival over 30, 000 people attend every weekend. There is plenty to do and see from the vendors to the costumes and even performances.

Queen Elizabeth welcomes every one with open arms and waves to the crowds in her parade. The crowd is always blown away by her presence at the festival.

Even the food is a hit with guests, from turkey legs to pickles there is little bit of something for everyone. When you are done enjoying the food, adults and kids can enjoy the many games and activities that allow them to reminisce in the renaissance era.

Vendors provided a variety of jewelry, souvenirs and even crystals.

"I have been coming since the very first one way back when it started and there's no place like it. The people that are here are very much like a family and this is a great way to keep in touch with friends," said Laurie Gamble, who runs a booth at the festival every year.

The Street Team caught up with two princesses who enjoy the festival year after year.

"Come out and see for yourself because it's living history and there's nothing more magical then being able to step back in time and we can really do that here," said Princess Amethyst.

Be sure to check out the Michigan Renaissance Festival before October first. For tickets and more information visit, http://www.michrenfest.com.
