It may be weeks away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about what to wear. Luckily, there are plenty of current summer trends to reference for putting together a stylish look.
An off-the-shoulder top or dress is a effortless go-to. It can be dressed up or slightly, down for a laid back feel. The fabric and color choice will lead the way for styling.
For example, a colored lace or body-con style off-the-shoulder dress showcases a dressier vibe.
While a white crochet, off-the-shoulder dress offers more of a casual yet fashionable approach to the same trend. A blouse that falls off the shoulder with a high-waist pants is simple yet very chic as well. No matter the style or garment, this trend is easy to wear and accessorize.
For a more amped up look, cut-outs is an ideal choice. Cut-outs are back and even more popular this year; they are featured in blouses, dresses, rompers and jumpsuits. The best part about this trend is having the ability to control how little or how much to show.
Be daring with large or multiple cut-outs. Or keep it subtle with just peek of skin. Essentially, this window of skin can instantly spice up any outfit. Ultimately, it truly comes down to a preference level with the trend.
Although a silhouette or hot trend can be inspiring, it’s not the only thing to consider when picking the right ensemble. Color can inspire many creative, new looks. Let the season be a guide.
Summer is full of vibrancy and lightness. Therefore, don’t shy away from bright colors and prints. This is the season to have really embrace both. A floral cocktail dress or bright jumpsuit are equally-appealing ways to wear color without fuss.
Lastly, change it up. If you went for a more traditional cocktail look in past years, consider something new and laid back but still stylish. Change can be good and make it much more exciting to get dressed.
To shop some of these suggested looks, check out JAUS in Birmingham. It is one of the many places a local fashionista can find after-five summer attire. To make the outfit complete, add a pair of killer shoes and statement jewelry to accessorize. Enjoy the event and be sure to take enough selfies to flaunt the hard work put into that show-stopping look.
