No Love Like Puppy Love - National Puppy Day

Alexis Rothenberg CBS62/CW50 Intern

March 23rd is National Puppy Day and CW50's spreading the puppy love. Celebrities show off their puppies, no matter how big they are.

CW50's Jane The VirginGina Rodriguez shows off how she takes her puppy out on the town.

Caity Lotz who plays Sara Lance on  CW50's DC's Legends of Tomorrow has no problem taking her best friend out with her! He even knows how to shake people's hands.

Ian Somerhalder, CW50's hottest vampire, Damon Salvatore, takes his big puppy out on a walk. It doesn't matter how big they are we still consider this some major puppy love.

So on this National Puppy Day tag your pup and show them how much they mean to you! If you don't have a puppy, March 23rd is a great time to go to a local animal shelter or local Humane Society to see what little guys need a forever home. Don't shop - adopt your next furry friend!

If you need a good reason to bring home that furry face, consider one of these from the Puppyhood website.

A puppy's love and affection has been known to lower blood pressure. If you need to give your family more reasons to add a new member to the family tell them that puppies make humans release the hormone serotonin, that "feel good" feeling we get around dogs.

A new puppy can help keep you active. One twenty minute walk with your pup can possibly help you lose more weight than some popular diet plans. Also puppies are the best kind of medicine. Helping their owners cope faster during grieving periods and give dog owners a chance to conceivably live longer than those without puppies in their daily lives.

For more reasons to adopt or celebrate puppies this March, give a call to your local animal or humane society.
