College Basketball

The college basketball season is right around the corner, and if you follow the sport you know there is nothing quite like it. This is going to be a special year for both MSU and U of M basketball. Both teams have huge potential to win the Big Ten title, and maybe make it to the national championship. Here are my top four storylines for these two teams this upcoming season.

Michigan finally healthy

Two of Michigan's players, Caris Levart and Derrick Walton Jr. were injured this past season, which derailed their team's chances of success. With both players now back healthy, look for the team to attack with more confidence and better efficiency.

MSU Denzel Valentine

Valentine is without question MSU best basketball player on their team. Experts have picked him to win Big-Ten player of the year and lead his team to a Big Ten title. MSU will need him to lead often as he is only one of two starters that return this season.

Freshman experience

Last season Michigan was an inexperienced team forced to play their freshman because of injuries to the team's best players. With sophomores, Aubrey Dawkins, and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, they bring back perhaps the most depth in John Beilein's coaching career.

Tom Izzo

Coach Izzo is not a good coach. He is in fact, a first ballot future Hall of Famer. He has accomplished everything a coach could want and dream to do. He's coached seven All-Americans and thirteen NBA draft picks, and six of them have gone in the first round. He has won eight coach of the year awards and a national championship. MSU will do well because they have Izzo coaching them. If you haven't heard yet, Izzo always has his team ready for March Madness.
