CW50 Street Team Meets Tons of New Best Friends!
The CW50 Street Team visited one of their favorite events this weekend at the Fall 2015 Meet Your Best Friend sponsored by the Michigan Humane Society and the Detroit Zoo.
This two day, semi annual event is a great way for people to ask questions and get all the information about adopting a pet says Ryan McTigue, MHS Public Relations Coordinator. "This is open and airy and you get to see all the animals in a fun environment... and if you get to meet that best friend, even better!"
"There are thousands of animals waiting for a home and they are so deserving" say Kelly Labonty of the Detroit Animal Welfare Group. Most all of their animals are rescued from the street of Detroit.
Jalen Weber, a repeat attendee, just likes looking at all the cute animals but says he tries every year to convince his mom to let him get a dog. We hope this year was his year Jalen!
This fall's 2015 Meet Your Best Friend event helped to place over 400 animals with their new best friends which adds to the already 21 thousand animals that have been adopted since 1993.
