The arctic temperatures, heavy layers, and continuous snow can have anyone dreaming of spring. Between the warm, sunny weather and the first bloom of fragrant flowers, there are so many elements to love about spring. For a fashionista, the new season is a chance to pull out the florals, simple jackets, and slip into a much lighter wardrobe.

For Spring 2015 collections, designers gathered inspiration from everyday fashion staples to create fresh and stylish trends to wear for the season. This spring designers have chosen neutral colors, denim, and even leather to design fashionable looks for the season.

Neutral colors and crisp whites dominated the runway for spring this year. Lanvin and Céline were among the designers that chose neutral colors to create a relaxed vibe for the upcoming season. Lanvin kept it very minimum and light for spring.

The simple white and pale pastel colored dresses varied from cotton to silk and other delicate sheer fabrics. Lanvin was also sure to slip in some loose fitting suits into the collection which had added sophistication for the office but maintained a very laid back feel. To add wow-appeal, Lanvin implemented slits and simple statement jewelry pieces to finish various looks.

Céline on the other hand chose some major accents to create a collection of chic neutrals. The collection progressed from basic beige, black, blue, and white into bright colors and vibrant floral patterns. However, it was the simple colored pieces that really made some unique statements.

Several garments had buttons, straps, fringe, or cut-outs to accent them which made the neutral pieces dazzle on the runway. Some of the pieces even included cut-outs, lined with fringe to create a dramatic effect. Every look was fresh and intriguing. Essentially, the collection provided plenty of color but also highlighted the simplicity and versatility of neutrals.

Leather was also a major inspiration for many spring collections. Designers decided that leather fabric wasn't just functional for cold-weather but could still also be stylish and trendy for spring.

Louis Vuitton and Versace are two designers who ran with the idea of spring leather to create two appealing fashion collections that each had a twist. Louis Vuitton choose bright and deep rich colors to create hip leather ensembles.

Vuitton featured many colorful outfits with long, pieced-together strips of leather. It was bright, innovative, and unique spin to a traditional fabric. Louis Vuitton completed the looks by accessorizing with leather boots and an equally-impressive assortment of leather handbags that had different patchwork. Overall, the entire collection embraced leather to the fullest to create distinct, leather patterns for spring.

Versace used leather in a lighter manner.

Versace's cleverly implemented square and swirl-pattern cutouts in leather to create full ensembles that stood out. In addition, the leather popped out due to the use of pastel and basic colors. The combination of cut-outs and spring colors created an edgy yet still very light collection.

Louis Vuitton and Versace proved that not only could leather work for spring but it can be revamped with creative styling for a new perspective for spring. Leather was not the only fabric to undergo a little fashion face lift for spring.

Denim was another popular fabric choice for spring runway shows. It gained plenty of attention from many designers, including Prada and Anthony Vaccarello. Both designers took denim to a chic new level for the season this year.

For Prada, it was all about detailed stitch work, large buttons, and the pairing of denim alongside different fabrics for spring. The detailed top- stitching was the most prominent throughout many pieces in the collection.

However, it was the contrasting fabrics, against the denim that took over many of the runway looks. Silk, leather, and other patterned fabrics were sewn together with the dark denim to create an upscale look. The different fabric choices gave a diverse and fresh direction to denim.

Anthony Vacarello took a more subtle approach to denim to create a casual, edgy and sexy collection. The denim used was a mix between dark and a much lighter wash of denim. Vaccarello implemented several mini skirts that were diagonally cut to showcase plenty of leg. He also used plenty of leather as well in his collection.

Vaccarello complimented the collection with casual accents of straps, buckles, and pin stripes. The entire collection consisted mostly of separates that made it easy to easily mix and match any look. Overall, Anthony Vacarello's collection of denim and leather had a very casual yet fashion-forward vibe for spring.

Each of these spring trends offer functionality, ease, and effortless style. Spring 2015 is about turning the basic and typical staple items into something new for varied looks. Consider each trend.

Leather and denim are traditional fashion favorites for fall and winter. But a fashionista can easily change that up for spring in her choice of styling. For instance, a basic leather jacket would pair perfectly with a denim skirt or pants and a simple white t-shirt.

Another option is putting a short jean jacket with a maxi dress and a pair of leather booties.

Remember, putting together a look is about creative thinking and pairing. Therefore, do not be afraid to mix these spring trends together to create a desired look. Keep these helpful tips in mind to ensure a fresh, stylish, and easy look for spring.
