Detroit Proud Playlist: Week of 12/01 - Special "Indie(PEN)dence Benefit Concert" Edition

So Thanksgiving has come and gone, December is here, and the holiday season has *officially* started. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to donate to a good cause? And - BONUS - hear live music from some of the BEST indie bands in the area?

Indie(PEN)dence Benefit Concert will do just that. Taking place this Friday, December 5th, at the Magic Stick in Detroit, the concert will feature music from local Detroit indie bands: The Bruised Reed, The Paper Sound, The Static Dial, and Moonwalks. All ticket sales and proceeds from the event will go directly to help with construction of schools in a developing country. Wayne State University students from the buildOn organization have come together to put on this concert benefiting a greater global community.

You can read more about buildOn and the Indie(PEN)dence Benefit Concert here in an inside interview with one of the event's organizers, but for now we have dedicated this week's playlist to those talented bands performing at the concert…check them out!
