When It Rains It Pours But State Champs! Still Brings Sports Galore

By Ashley Raymond

DETROIT, MI - Mother nature got a little confused last week, hitting our state in May with April showers. Luckily, the State Champs! crew was able to fit some games in during the calm between the storms.

We start the show off this week heavy in lacrosse.

Notre Dame Prep takes on Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard to get a 6th Catholic League title…. Then we move around town to catch the Catholic Central verse Brother Rice lacrosse rivalry.

As for the ladies, the Marian lacrosse team takes on Sacred Heart for a nail-biter that you don't want to miss.

We then move to some baseball at Comerica Park where Brother Rice went for their 11th Catholic League A/B Championship title against Orchard Lake St. Mary's.

Back in the studio, Tom Markowski and Lorne Plant hit the Buzz to discuss what state will be joining the MHSAA for students to travel to and play in athletics.

For our main event, we head back down to Comerica Park to see if Bishop Foley can capture their 3rd straight Catholic League C/D Baseball Championship against Notre Dame prep.

Don't forget to submit nominations all spring long for our Muscle Milk Heavy Hitter of the Week and keep the voting coming for our Warrior Sport High School Lacrosse Player of the Year!

Make sure to connect with us on Twitter @statechampsnet and remember to like us on Facebook. Remember, when the clock strikes noon on Sunday it's always STATE CHAMPS!

The previous week's show is available on-demand by Monday afternoon.
