Project Imaginat10n Film Festival Competiton Calls On Local Filmmakers

Local filmmakers! Would you like the chance to have your film showcased up against five celebrity-directed films? You should think about joining the Project Imaginat10n Film Festival contest then. Project Imaginat10n is calling on local filmmakers of all skill levels to direct a short film inspired from one of ten themes of photographs.

There are ninety-one photographs in total and they are divided into ten different themes. Participants are encouraged to pick one of the ten themes of photographs to draw inspiration from and use it to create a short film. Out of the photographs used, there will also be photos by the local Metro Detroit photographers, Rob Woodcox and Sal Rodriguez.

The competition is headed by Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard, and the five winning films will compete against five celebrity-directed films. The five celebrity directors are Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Biz Stone (co-founder of Twitter), Georgina Chapman (designer and co-founder of Marchesa), and James Murphy (founder of LCD Soundsystem).

The rules for the competition are not unlike most other short-film competitions, participants must create a film in length of 1-10 minutes long, including no more than 2 minutes of credits and must be turned in by July 23rd to be considered. Films will be judged based on imagination, originality, technical quality, overall impression, and the extent to which the film is inspired by ten of the winning Project Imaginat10n photo themes.

Winners of the contest also have the chance to be selected as one of the five grand-prize winners and be a part of "A Ron Howard Presentation," and then screened at the Project Imaginat10n Film Festival.
