Thought Bubble Public Art To Pop Up On Woodward

Detroit (CW50) - A new public art project creates thought bubbles to brighten motorists' day. Starting on Saturday June 15th a new art installation is coming to the road side of Woodward Ave. Positive words will be printed on colorful balloons shaped objects along the roadside forming a phrase to inspire and generate conversation.

The Knights of the Arts Academy, a homeschool art education is behind the funding and creation of the public art that will will be installed in front of Duggan's.

Six artists ranging in ages from 9-13 have been working for the past eight months on this project with the guidance from their teacher. The artists have taken six 30" exercise balls and six 10" kick balls, wrapped them in plaster casting strips and painted them with vibrant colors. On the 30" balls the artists chose a positive word that was replicated with vinyl lettering and placed on the balls.

The balls were then sealed to withstand any inclement weather will be changed periodically over the three weeks the project will be up.
