Plain White T's To Perform At Belle Isle Grand Prix

Detroit, Mich. (CW50) - Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix officials announced today that the Plain White T's will rock the crowd with a matinee concert on the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage on Sunday, June 2.

The popular modern rock band from Chicago with the smooth sound will perform on Sunday afternoon before the final race of the weekend at the Grand Prix – the second Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans IZOD IndyCar Series race.

The Plain White T's first gained national prominence with their chart-topping song "Hey There Delilah" in 2007. The mega-hit single, which rocketed to No. 1 in 13 countries, was the fourth song in history to sell over three million digital downloads. The band has also generated such notable hits as "Boomerang," "1, 2, 3, 4" and "Rhythm of Love."  The twice-Grammy nominated group has released six studio albums, including their most recent production, Wonders of the Younger.

"The Plain White T's are the perfect addition to the entertainment lineup during this year's Grand Prix," said Bud Denker, Chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.  "They are a terrific band with some great songs that will certainly keep our fans excited at the Motor City Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage heading into the final race of an action-packed weekend."

The Plain White T's will perform at 2 p.m. ET on June 2, following the first race of the day featuring the cars of the Pirelli World Challenge Series and before the final IndyCar Series race of the unique doubleheader weekend.

The Plain White T's join an impressive Grand Prix entertainment schedule that includes rocker Bret Michaels on Saturday evening, June 1 and a number of local acts performing throughout the weekend on the Motor City Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage. The headline act for Friday night at the Grand Prix will be announced in the coming weeks.
