The Jade Idol, featuring Detroit-to-Austin transplant John Speck (leader of Detroit bands The Fags, Hi Fi Handgrenades and Hoarse), kick off the showcase, followed by blues rockers The Sights, who toured with Tenacious D over the past year. Jamaican Queens are next, importing "trap pop" from Detroit with their newly released debut, Wormfood. Rap duo Passalacqua continue the party, with tight rhymes mixed with sharp lyrics. Next The Hounds Below (featuring ex Von Bondies frontman, Jason Stollsteimer) present blue-eyed soul and rock 'n' rock classicism with top notch songwriting. Those searching for punkman will find it with DEATH, who personified punk before the word was ever spoken.

The showcase will take place at Ten Oak, located at 409 Colorado Street in downtown Austin. Tickets for the SXSW festival can be purchased at sxsw.com.
