MJR Grand Opening
It's pretty rare that I find myself underdressed for anything. I love to dress up. If anything I may be overdressed on occasion. However, when I arrived at the MJR Westland Grand Digital Cinema 16 in Westland on Friday for the Media VIP Preview Party, I felt underdressed.
I had come right from work, so I was wearing a skirt - not casual by anyone's standard. I was surprised to see others walking into the theater in suits, dresses, and even gowns! Unlike most movie events I attend, there wasn't a pair of jeans in sight!
When I stepped inside the brand new theater, the ambiance matched the attire. The theater was beautiful - squeaky clean and state of the art. The employees and staff were very present - welcoming, smiling, helpful, and looking good in matching black pants, crisp white shirts, and black vests. The food and drinks were delicious - fresh veggies, bruschetta, meatballs, a carving station, and more. The drinks were flowing - beer on tap and a variety of wine offerings.
After helping myself to some of the appetizers and drinks, I walked around and checked out the theater. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I don't get to Westland often at all, but I overheard that many Westland residents were really excited about the opening.
Just before 8pm, I grabbed a freshly popped bag of buttered popcorn and a large soda and headed into the movie of my choosing - The Ides of March. The seats were comfortable, the sound and picture quality were incredible, my popcorn tasted great, and the movie was good too! What a glamorous night at the movies!
XOXO,
Bethany
