The week on Street Beat looks at the importance of diversity and understanding with a special look at some of the events that commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11.  

Host Syma Chowdhry talks with Daniel H. Krichbaum, the Director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights about their new awareness campaign, Only Fair is Fair.

Then Syma talks through sign language interpreter Helen Boucher with Judy Vardon about the Deaf Arts Festival (Sept 17) and Kenya Lowe about Deaf Celebration Day (Sept 28).

Next Community Correspondent  Ben Falik finds out about local events taking place for Acts of Kindness, a national movement that acknowledges 9/11 through service to the community.

Finally, Syma speaks with Circuit Court Judge Warren and his daughter Leah about  Patriot Week, a week-long series of events that show the significance of the special freedoms we hold as citizens of the United States.

      why you call deaf and dumb? that is osifnefve phrase!just saying deaf,I am real life deaf not dumb. I do work and pay taxes!
