DGGs @ Michigan Film Gala

We walked the red carpet and were greeted at the door by photographers ready to snap our pictures.  It felt like we had walked right into a fabulous Hollywood premiere!  Dressed to impress, Lauren and I were ready to start 2011 at the Michigan Film Gala at the Sheraton in Novi.

We grabbed a bite to eat, a glass of champagne, and mingled with industry insiders before moving into the ballroom for an evening of great eats, movie sneaks, and meet and greets.
Brandon T. Jackson (you might know him from Lottery Ticket, Roll Bounce, and Tropic Thunder) hosted the event.  He greeted everyone in attendance as we sat to down to a delicious 3-course meal.  The Michigan native also provided entertainment and interjected some pretty funny bits of comedy between movie trailers, and short films that were shown throughout the night.

The night was mostly filled with glamour and entertainment, but I also managed to learn a lot about the film industry in Michigan.  An expert panel enlightened us with a discussion and question & answer session about getting started in the industry, going digital, and so much more. The panelists were definitely experts and had a lot of valuable information to share. It was very interesting!
After the discussion, we mingled some more and prepared to count down to 2011.   At the stroke of midnight, we toasted to the New Year and celebrated with a balloon drop. Very cool event!
Happy New Year!
I’ll keep it fabulous and keep you in the loop!
