Getting glammed up and walking the runway are two of my favorite things to do! Metro Times invited the DGGs to do just that at their Fashioned In Hell event.
The scary night of entertainment and fashion happened at the Majestic Theater downtown in the “D.” The fashion show showcased some fabulous local designers, boutiques, and talented acts. Metro Detroit got all dressed up and came out to party at the event that featured some of the hottest DJs (and great drink specials!).
Danielle, Lauren, and I arrived early to try on the outfits that we would be modeling and to get our hair and makeup done. We hung out in crowded quarters backstage and made a tiny laundry room into our private dressing room for the night!
Lauren donned a custom-made dress, made entirely from recycled FUSE drink wrappers. She looked gorgeous in the paper dress! You couldn’t even tell it was made of the recycled materials – it looked so wearable and fabulous! Danielle and I got to wear throwback looks from Incognito in Royal Oak. They had me looking just like Jessie from Saved By the Bell and Danielle looked just like Kelly! I got so many compliments on the look from Incognito….everyone loved the accessories!
I loved the costumes that the DGGs got to wear, but they were mild in comparison to some of the looks we saw, both in the crowd and on the runway! Noir Leather in Royal Oak provided the most provocative costumes in the show, and there must have been at least 10 Lady Gaga outfits in the audience. Plus, we saw acts of fire-throwing and magic!
What a night! It’s so much fun to celebrate in Halloween fashion!
I’ll keep it fabulous and keep you in the loop!
