Street Beat: Detroit 67 Project
This week on Street Beat, host April Moss learns about the Detroit 67 project sponsored by the Detroit Historical Society which takes an in depth look at the Detroit Riot from 1967. Kalisha Davis, Director of Community Outreach and Engagement, and Billy Winkel, Curatorial Assistant from the Detroit Historical Society, explain the details. Then, Charles Farrell, the Director of Public Programs from The Wright Museum, discusses their projects that are connected to the Detroit 67 Project. Finally, David Wolber, a director with the Matrix Theatre, discusses their presentation of “Dream Deferred – Detroit,” a play created from the personal accounts about the ’67 rebellion.
