Maybe you're not craving turkey and mashed potatoes this year and you want some Chinese food instead. Shangri-La offers authentic Chinese dishes, and its West Bloomfield location serves up "late night" dim sum (until 2 a.m.) as well. The restaurant's regular lunch and dinner menu will also be available. Last year reservations were required, so make sure to call ahead and ensure that there will be a table available for you and your guests.

The Rugby Grille
Townsend Hotel
100 Townsend St.
Birmingham, MI 48009

If you not only don't want to cook, but you also want a fancy Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, then look no further than the Rugby Grille, located in the lavish Townsend Hotel in downtown Birmingham. Last year, the restaurant served four-course meals, with entrees ranging from traditional roast turkey to Norwegian salmon to smoked prime rib. Meals included an entree, dessert, soup or salad and appetizer. Reservations are required, so make sure to call ahead before arriving, and check on times as well - last year lunch was served from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. only.

Lily's Seafood
410 S. Washington Ave.
Royal Oak, MI 48067

Lily's Seafood, located in downtown Royal Oak, offers a "family style" buffet on Thanksgiving day, which last year included Southern deep-fried turkey with oyster cornbread stuffing, honey-cured ham and house-smoked salmon, many desserts and more. Prices in 2012 were $22.99 and $10.99 for ages six to 12, with kids five and younger eating free, and prices this year will be comparable. The buffet at Lily's combines your traditional Thanksgiving items, such as turkey and garlic mashed potatoes, with seafood items such as its oyster cornbread stuffing.

Last year, advance payment and reservations were required, so call before arriving to make sure the policy hasn't changed.
