It’s common knowledge to Detroiters that our town is home to some of the world’s best musicians. We’re at the top of every major music trend – from Motown to techno to garage rock. Detroit musicians have influenced and entertained millions, and that list will only continue to grow – we thought we’d pay tribute to some of those who set the bar high.
Hey, hey, Detroit music lovers! Instead of digging deep into Detroit’s underground music scene, we thought we’d shine a light on all those that came before. You know, those big-time stars of the “D” that we have to thank for making Detroit one of the music staples of the world!
Musicians are hitting Detroit as part of their fall tours, creating no shortage of amazing concerts to attend in the city.
Rounding out the last week of July, this week’s CW50 Detroit Proud Playlist includes tunes from a few singer-songwriters, a bit of country-folk, and the grungy Detroit rock, to a ’50s-inspired 16-year-old rocker, as well as a few long-time loves.
