“I think you can be inspired by anything.” George Morris has been writing music since he was in high school, first in a style known as “bedroom pop.” Why? Well, he would write and record it all in his bedroom, all on his own. “Everyday interactions, books,” George says. He pulls inspiration from everything around him. He jokes “even romantic comedies. You just have to keep your eyes open.”

Inspiring and optimistic is what we were going for.
Rounding out the last week of July, this week’s CW50 Detroit Proud Playlist includes tunes from a few singer-songwriters, a bit of country-folk, and the grungy Detroit rock, to a ’50s-inspired 16-year-old rocker, as well as a few long-time loves. Also, find one of the originators of techno music in our set. Did you know he was from Detroit? Check it out!
