Once a month, the Detroit Proud Playlist dedicates the entire list to one band or artist in particular. This week, we’re bringing you the band ADULT. They’ve graced our playlists in the past – but this week, you’re getting them in full-force.
So, Detroit music fans, this week we have something special in the works for you. Have you ever heard of the Detroit Techno Militia? Hear our favorite tracks from the DTM in this week’s special edition…
Our Detroit Proud Playlist comes together each week with one goal: to share songs from the talented and admired musicians (and bands) from the Detroit area with the community. See who we picked this week!
Funky beats, cool rhythms, and rhymes permeate the stages and all through the crowd at the 2014 Movement Festival.
We decided to change things up this week and create a playlist that features all of Detroit’s best EDM artists (that’s “Electronic Dance Music,” for all you EDM-newbies). Check ‘em out!
We’ve decided now that the snow is *mostly* gone, it’s time to celebrate Spring – so get up and move! We’ve packed this week’s playlist full of all varieties of electronic musicians that will get you in the dancing (or running, if that’s your thing) spirit…and a few more mellow tracks for when you need a rest – after all, it’s been a long winter.
St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is scheduled to make its U.S. debut – could you take a guess at which city it might be headed to? No, it’s not the “typical” cities, New York City or Los Angeles – they’ve chosen Detroit. St. Jerome’s annual Laneway Festival – that grew out of Australia and became one of the biggest musical festivals in the world – will celebrate this year here in Metro Detroit at the Meadow Brook Music Theater on Saturday, September 14th.
The 3-day festival is the largest of its kind and people come in from all over the country to celebrate the electronic music.
