ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

WKBD-TV CW50 Detroit has an exciting opportunity for a high achiever to join our sales team. We are seeking an experienced, creative, and aggressive Broadcast Sales Account Executive. We are looking for someone who can sell this station’s commercial inventory to advertising agencies, retailers, manufacturers, and distributors and effectively market the station to current and potential clients. New Business development and internet web sales will also be a primary responsibility of this position. Strong presentation and negotiation skills a must. Good time management is key to success in this position as you need to balance “in the field” face calls with account management and paper work. Ideal candidate will be a detail oriented, energetic team player who is driven to succeed. Must be proficient with computers and adept at learning software applications. Basic Excel skills a must. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred, two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Market experience preferred.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (Part Time)

We are looking for technicians with a television broadcast engineering background. Applicants must have previous master control operation experience and be able to assist with audio/video cable and equipment installations. A solid background with server automation and file-based workflows is also required. Previous experience with operation and technical support of satellite receive equipment and studio production equipment is desirable.

Applicants must be physically able to lift heavy objects and work on ladders and under raised floors. Applicants must also possess the ability to learn and become proficient with specified equipment operations in a pre-defined time period.

Applicants must be highly self-motivated and able to work various hours, including overnights and weekends. This is a part-time, union position.
