Okay, so she has her own band, her band has played the renowned Metro Times Blowout, and she was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston for their summer program – where she was crowned the winner of the Berklee College of Music Singer/Songwriter competition…twice! Oh, did we mention she has accomplished all of this by the age of 16?! Yeah, we’re pretty impressed too.

Deciding to shine a Detroit Proud spotlight on Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. was a no-brainer. The duo, comprised of Metro Detroit natives Joshua Epstein and Daniel Zott, have achieved national acclaim, yet still stay true to their roots right here in the D. “We all have real jobs now and do the ‘grown-up’ thing, but this is my way to break free from that – we just love music.” You may remember the name Scott Allen from the band Thunderbirds Are Now! – the Metro Detroit band that made a name for themselves in the early 2000s, signing with French Kiss Records and touring throughout Europe, America, and parts of Australia at a very young age.
Get your pen and paper ready for this week’s edition of the DETROIT PROUD: Playlist, because you’ll definitely want to take note of the bands and artists we have this week!
