The 16th Annual "Shiver on the River"

It may be cold outside but that did not stop the CW50 Street Team from attending the 16th annual Shiver on the River. This Ecology Family Fair had activities, exhibits and displays all over Belle Isle.

The main event was held at the historic Belle Isle Casino but other exhibits were also shown at the Belle Isle Aquarium, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Nature Zoo, the Dossin Museum, the Detroit Yacht Club, the Detroit Boat Club, and the U.S. Coast Guard Station.

One activity that the Street Team very much loved watching was the Improve Project group. The Improve Project group entertained families with their hilarious improve show and even invited the audience to be a part of the show.

Belle Isle Aquarium had marshmallow roasting and featured an arts and craft project that children of all ages could enjoy. With an assortment of color paper, markers, and googly eyes children created their own fish to take home.

"We're making fish and these are fish that kids love. They can make them from any age from very young to 4th grade. We had one kid who was eleven and thought it was a blast to do," said Mike Dayn.
