What To Wear To Hour's Best Of Detroit Party

Slip into your best ensemble, pull out those dancing shoes and bring a full appetite for a night of full entertainment in the D. Hour Detroit Magazine is honoring a few of Detroit's favorites in restaurants, style, and entertainment with its annual Best of Detroit party on June 24.
On the heels of its 20th anniversary issue, Hour Detroit is continuing its tradition of honoring the best restaurants, bars, style, and entertainment that are voted on by its readers with this annual party to celebrate. Over 30 restaurants will serve up delicious hors d'oeuvres and cold cocktails for guests as they mingle in the spacious, MotorCity Casino Hotel.
To top off the event, there will be plenty of music to dance to into the late evening in MotorCity's Soundboard. Needless to say, this fashionable event deserves an outfit meant to shine. Check out a few helpful options for dressing to impress:
For Men
Consider opting for a suit jacket that's unique. A suit jacket with a subtle print, a little color, or perhaps a jacket made of satin are great examples of a unique jacket that is sure to change it up.
A distinctive tie or bowtie is another way to bring some life to a suited-look, without appearing over-the-top. Take it the extra mile with a pair of quality cufflinks.
Shoes are just as important for men. For example, a patent-leather shoe would be the perfect finishing touch to the look. Ultimately, the key is to have a refined but sharp look.
For Women
The little black dress (LBD) is always a simple, effortless classy look for a party. It's also very befitting for this occasion.
Sprinkle in some bold jewelry, an eye-catching pair of shoes, and a statement-clutch to bring the look together. For an alternative to the LBD, try a print dress or jumpsuit.
Florals are always on trend for summer so embrace it. A jumpsuit, cocktail dress or flowy, Maxi dress will look beautiful for the evening.
With a print, accessories do not have to be in a major abundance. Less is more. A simple clutch, a big pair of earrings and a strappy heel or a jeweled-flat is the perfect way to accessorize. Remember the print will speak on its own so compliment with a few stylish accessories.
Keep these tips in mind to look best dressed for one of the biggest summer events. General admission tickets are $95 and VIP tickets are $140. The event is hosted by Amy Andrews, with entertainment by Killer Flamingos and percussionist, Jared Sykes.
