This week on Street Beat, host Karen Carter looks at the issue of hunger in metro Detroit with James McQueen, the food pantry manager for the Lighthouse of Oakland County.

Then McQueen is joined by Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard to discuss the upcoming Walk for Hunger 2016.

Next, Dr. Phil Knight, the executive director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, discusses summer feeding programs.

Finally, Lisa Machesky, the director of the Oakland Literacy Council, and board member Russell Moore talk about the Literacy Council and the upcoming Motor City Wine and Food Festival that benefits literacy.
