Keep it light, whimsical and bright this spring with a few of the season's biggest trends. This year, designers have embraced feminine touches such as lace, florals, and a little sparkle to create ready-to-wear spring looks.

From subtle to bold, it is the delicate touches that are creating stand-out looks for the season. Although florals are not new for spring, designers have found appealing ways to implement the seasonal staple into the fold of their collections.

Alexander McQueen's perspective of spring emphasizes femininity with its use of ruffles, flower embroidery, and floral patterns in the collection. McQueen's also highlights colors of blush, black, and off-white which provides additional softness.

Overall, the collection is a diverse mixture of dramatic and simple dresses. There's even some suited and beautifully-embroidered-floral denim looks. The Alexander McQueen collection is the perfect mash up of spring.

Gucci even got into the floral trend while mixing in pastels, primary colors, and fabrics of lace, sheer, and satin. Like McQueen, Gucci offers a variety of looks that range from dresses to tailored suits that have unique details with plenty of color.

Each look boasts of richness and chicness. The entire collection maintains Gucci's luxe and sophistication but also has a freshness created by fun patterns, embellishments, and colors.

Rodarte put a different spin on spring by pairing fabrics of velvet, lace, and sheer material against glittery embroidery. The collection embraced a lot of dark and light colors such as black and white to outline every look.

The looks leaned more on the formal side by showcasing many evening gowns, skirts, cocktail dresses, and a few embellished jumpsuits. All in all, Rodarte highlights femininity by presenting a dark yet glamorous and soft approach in his looks.

Like the major runway looks, any fashion lover can make the same trend a statement. Start by pulling out those floral dresses. Dress it up for the office by slipping on a pastel blazer and some simple nude pumps to achieve a conservative look.

The same floral dress will look just as beautiful for a causal day out, minus the blazer. Slip on some wedge sandals to complete the look. There are alternatives to achieving a soft spring look.

Take a page from McQueen and Gucci. Implement a little color blocking to compliment floral patterns. The contrast is a creative and fashionable way to put together an ensemble.

Also, layering is still important for spring, especially when considering Michigan weather. Layering is essential to preparing for the unexpected climate changes while playing on a fabric contrast, like Rodarte.

Focus on light and airy fabrics such as lace and chiffon to create trendy looks that are soft and feminine. Most of these type of fabrics could be in the closet which can eliminate the need to shop.

However, a quick shopping trip is always exciting and welcomed opportunity to bring something new into the mix. Consider these tips for a ready-to-wear look with plenty of style and no fuss required for spring.
