CW50 Hits a Homerun at Willie Horton's "Batting for Kids"

Smiling faces filed into Comerica Park for the 14th Annual Willie Horton's "Batting for Kids." This event brought over 400 children to the ballpark to enjoy physical activity and learn valuable baseball skills.

It is not every day you can run the bases and stand centerfield in a major league baseball stadium. Plus, the Detroit Tigers very own Willie Horton, a member of the 1968 World Series Champs, was on hand to offer the kids tips and encouragement before they walked on the field.

Volunteers from Home Depot, Comerica Bank and The Wayne State Baseball Team came out to teach the kids batting, pitching and throwing. With over 100 volunteers this was a huge success for the children age 5-15 who came and participated. The money raised benefitted the children's programs at Don Bosco Hall.
