By Raquel Parks

One of the best things about summer for any fashion lover is the seasonal wardrobe change. Floral dresses, sandals, beach hats, bright prints, and swim suits are just some of the items that provide all the nostalgia of a fashionable summer. From traveling to outdoor activities, there are so many activities to enjoy during the summer.

Therefore, it is important to be equipped with all the right essentials to creating a summer look for any occasion. Some summer staples may already be sitting in the closet but it’s also necessary to shop for newer items to stay current and look stylish. Here are a few must-have items for ensuring a look for all the fun activities that summer promises.

On The Go

Travel is one of the most anticipated parts of summer. When traveling, it is important to have everything that might be need to look fabulous, without over packing. Keep it simple, fashionable, and reasonable.

The key to travel wear is to have a variety but also have items suitable for comfortable, traveling. Consider all that is planned. Swimming in sparkling, aqua blue waters and tanning by the pool at a luxurious resort is what summer travel is all about.

Pack 3 to 4 swimsuits while traveling to ensure a variety and enough options to choose. Packing more than 4 swimsuits is excessive unless the vacation is beyond a week or two.

An elegant dinner or an impromptu night on the town is always a possibility while on vacation. Therefore, a pair or two of wedges and heels can come in handy. Avoid packing to many pairs of heels because they are less likely to be worn and limit comfort. Opt for a pair of go-to heels and a nude or straw pair of wedges for versatility.

There is so much to see and do while on vacation which requires plenty of walking and being on the go. Don’t allow a pair of heels to hinder the joy of any trip. It is an absolute must to have a few pairs of flat shoes for comfort while traveling.

Choosing flats over heels does not mean that one has to ditch style for comfort. A pair of designer flip flops, flats, and even gladiator sandals are some stylish footwear choices for traveling. Ultimately, a fashionista can enjoy all the sight-seeing while on vacation without compromising her style and missing a step.

Festival Time

Besides travel, outdoor festivals and concerts are some fun ways to celebrate summer. Whether it is Arts, Beats, and Eats or Riverdays, summer is the season of festivals in the D. At a festival or an outdoor concert, there is plenty of delicious food, adventurous rides, beautiful art, and great local music to enjoy.

When attending festivals, comfort is also very important. Maxi and summer dresses are perfect for flowing in the breeze while walking near the cool waters of Downtown Detroit. Maxi dresses are beautiful, effortless, and relaxed enough for walking around at any festival. It’s a good idea to have a vast variety of prints, colors, and styles of Maxi dresses for the summer available.

Pair any Maxi dress with flat sandals to maintain a look and still be relaxed throughout the festival. Shorts, simple tees, and capris are also ideal for festivals because they ensure a more casual, outfit without the fuss. After all, there is so much eating to indulge on, games to play, and rides to partake in. Don’t miss a minute of it due to fashion.

Lastly, it is a good idea to slip in a summer handbag and statement jewelry. No matter if a fashionista is on a getaway or having fun under the sun at home, a new handbag is necessary to carry everything. Statement jewelry is a playful and creative way to add a finishing touch to any outfit.

Essentially, summer is an opportunity to truly have fun. Clothing should reflect and promote that attitude to the fullest. It’s about leaving behind the heavy layers and embracing the outdoor activities while even getting away. Be creative, keep it light, and be adventurous.
