Finnish Band Steve’N’Seagulls Covers Metallica’s ‘Seek And Destroy’

Teacups, overalls and Metallica never felt so right in the same sentence.

If you’ve never heard of Steve’N’Seagulls — now is the time.

Five Finnish guys: Remmel, Puikkonen, Pukki Kaalinen, Hiltunen and Herman have picked up their bluegrass instruments and they’re at it again. This time they’ve countrified Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy”.

I’m a huge Metallica fan and I’ll admit this version is awesome. The arrangement does a great job of being true to both the tempo and structure of Metallica’s version and the laid back feel of the bluegrass style.

The uncut video shows the band packed into a cozy room performing the song live. The scruffy guys take a break from their refined snack of what seems to be tea and a bit of bread to shred the 80’s metal track. I’d like to give a nod to the technical quality of the video recording to Jaakko Manninen Photography and Antti Laitila.

Their past covers include AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, Dio‘s “Holy Diver” and Iron Maiden‘s “The Trooper” have accumulated millions of views on their YouTube channel.

These songs and more are set for an upcoming album release called Farm Machine which can be pre-ordered on Amazon and iTunes.
