1D Fans React to Zayn Malik Leaving

Silence fills the airs as fans mourn a tragic loss. Zayn Malik of One Direction has left the band.

The 1D Facebook page posted a heartfelt message to commemorate the event along with a sentiment from Zayn, himself. He said, "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

Though Zayn seems comfortable with his decision, his fans do not. Socials are ablaze after the news outbreak and people are not happy.

Directioners are not alone in their tragedy. Fans from opposing fandoms have taken to social media to show their support.

It's so great to see the arguments cease as the fandoms unite when it's needed most.
