The popping of chilled champagne, confetti spiraling in the air, and the anticipated countdown to midnight is enough to inspire the most fabulous attire to celebrate a new year. Whether the plan is to spend the evening with loved ones in a casual setting or dance it up at a lavish party, embrace the best attire to fit New Year's Eve.

Toast to 2015 with sparkle and glam. Glitz, glitter, and anything that sparkles is always a perfect choice for New Year's Eve. Comfort is also a key component to consider when the goal is to also feel very relaxed for the night-long celebration.

However, it is possible to bring both elements together to create an ideal look. Here are few dressing hints to being festive, fashionable, and cozy to bring in the new year.

Evening gowns and cocktail dresses are a popular choice for keeping it chic and upscale for New Year's. There are so many beautiful styles to choose from around the holiday time. The after-Christmas sales make it even easier to purchase a quality dress for a great deal.

Ultimately, choosing the right dress depends on what one is looking for. Currently, cut-outs, beading, sequins, split skirts, and even feathers are on trend for gowns and dresses.

The Setting Matters

A lavish party might require a sequin or beaded gown that will stand out in a room full of fashionable guests. Cut-outs also offer a modern, sexy and chic twist to typical formal wear. Short cocktail dresses, however, might be more appropriate for a smaller party among close friends and family.

A laid back New Year's Eve celebration deserves just as much attention as an extravagant party. Keep it simple yet very festive and elegant. To do so, be inventive. Mix comfort and glamour. For example, a leather skirt would pair perfectly with a delicate beaded or sheer top. Complete the look with a unique clutch, pattern stocking, and leather over-the knee boot.

Mix In Some Casual

Another way to mix casual with glam is by putting a comfortable pair of black slacks or jeans with a sexy cut-out glitter top and a pair of chic heels or boots. Hint: Pick a pair of boots, booties, or pumps that will add some sass and fun to the outfit. It is a great way to dress up a look without the fuss of wearing formal wear.

To pull these looks together, a little local shopping might be in order. Paulina BH in Birmingham and Dolce Moda in Royal Oak are just two of the one-stop shops for finding the essential apparel to wear for New Year's Eve.

Accessorize

No look is complete without the right accessories. Accessories can easily elevate any look. Stick with a small clutch or decorative cross body bag for the night. Big handbags are not a bad choice but a smaller bag offers less baggage and more style for the evening. Keep it simple.

Statement jewelry is a must for New Year's. A diamond necklace or choker and a pair of chandelier earrings can instantly take a look from 0 to 100. Do not be afraid to wear it; this is the one occasion that begs for a little excess and glitz.

Indulge in it! Marlee's by Tappers in Troy offers more than enough bling to sparkle for the big evening.

Lastly, nothing speaks more about a look than an envy-worthy pair of shoes. When shopping for the right shoes, consider Tender in Birmingham for designer shoes that are sure to speak volumes.

Essentially, it's all about the styling that will bring the entire look together. Try to stay open and mix it up. Be fabulous, have fun, and be safe this New Year's Eve.
