'Street Beat' Senior Citizens

This week on Street Beat, host Amyre Makupson talks about issues that affect senior citizens.

First up, Amyre talks with Sallie Justice of the Area Agency on Aging 1B about family caregiver support, helping seniors avoid scammers, minor homeowner tasks, and figuring out which Medicare plan is best for you.

Next, Amyre chats with Bert Copple of Home Instead Senior Care. Bert describes what the 40/70 Talk is, and how you should be talking to your parent about end-of-life decisions, when to stop driving, aging in place, seniors dating and sharing the workload with siblings.

Then, Amyre sits down with Cindy Burt of Drive Able. Cindy focuses on assessing a senior's ability to drive, how to sharpen their driving skills, modifying vehicles to keep seniors driving and how to take away the keys when it's time.

Finally, Christine Tvaroha from Bloomfield Township Senior Services comes on the show to chat about their fitness center, their adult day care, the activities & programs that they offer, and their seniors' travel groups.
