Love Grows Here Is Supporting Women

A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.

Love Grows Here is a non-profit organization providing support to low income and at-risk pregnant women and their infants by supplying them with essential goods. This week I was able to talk to Kenneth Snapp who is the project manager of the organization.

Love Grows Here is a newly developed organization that has already made a an impact in the lives of many women. Their goal is to have provided support for at least 100 women by the end of this year.

To raise additional funds, the organization is hosting The Detroit Fight Night. The event will take place this Saturday, August 23rd at Bert's Warehouse. This charity boxing event will benefit organization.

Many big name guest are expected to attend such as Mike Duggan, Councilman Spivey, Tommy Hearns, and many more. A VIP reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. for sponsors, special guests, and patrons. The match will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Sydney Bowden is a junior at Western Michigan University majoring in Film, Video, and Media Studies with a minor in Apparel Merchandising. She's an intern for CBS/CW50 Television network station by day and a retail sales associate for Champs Sports and True Religion Brand Jeans in the evening.
