'The Big Bang Theory' Writers Explain Why They'll Never Give Penny A Last Name

Are you superstitious? "The Big Bang Theory" writers are. Well, at least about one thing.

Penny's last name has never been mentioned in the show and it never will be, at least until the writers change their minds.

During San Diego Comic-Con the writers were put to the task. "At this point, we've come so far it's a bit of a superstition for us," said show runner, Steve Molaro.

Another legendary character with a one word name, Kramer from Seinfeld, was eventually given the first name of Cosmo. It didn't ruin that show. So what's the big worry?
