Willie Horton's 13th Annual Batting For Kids Challenge!

BATTER UP! It could be your child's turn to pitch!

The Willie Horton 13th Annual Batting for Kids Baseball Challenge is right around the corner on July 11 and your little batter could be up next. Join the renowned Willie Horton of the Detroit Tigers and the youth of Detroit as they develop baseball skills.

This event is for boys and girls, ages 5 – 15. They will gain a unique opportunity to visit a Detroit landmark, Comerica Park, and compete on a major league baseball field. Every participant will receive an event T-shirt, food and drinks, as well as a baseball keepsake.

The youth participating in the competition event will be placed into teams of seven. Each group will be accompanied by an adult. This annual event allows the youth of Detroit to showcase their talents and learn essential baseball skills like batting, throwing and base-running. They could even earn a chance to be recognized at a Detroit Tigers baseball game.

On July 11, starting the day off from 8:00 - 8:30am is Early Youth Registration and Continental Breakfast. Following that will be Individual and Team Registration from 8:30 - 9:30am. The competition event is from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Once your registration form and fees have been received, all parents/guardians much submit a complete waiver form for each child.
