Let’s get ready to rumble! This weeks show is all about hoops! So lace up your tennis shoes, put on the jerseys and get ready to get rowdy!
We open the show with the Class A Girls State Championship game between Bloomfield Hills Marian and Canton. You’re not going to want to miss what the Thomas sister’s and their father have up their sleeves for the Chiefs!
Next up, is some boys basketball quarterfinals between University of Detroit Jesuit and Romulus. This close scoring game is a nail biter until the very end as the defending champions from Romulus look to defend their crown.
We’re only getting started on the State Champs High School Sports Show, our camera guys will also have all the action from the Class D Southfield Christian vs Frankfort match up. Then the highlights continue with some Class B Semifinals, as Milan challenged Detroit Douglass on the hardwood.
During the Inside Buzz, Tom Markowski of the Detroit News and State Champs very own Lorne Plant will talk about how physical high school basketball has become and what are the reasons behind it. In addition, Ashley Raymond takes us to a wheelchair basketball game of one local high school junior, who has no limits.
For our main event this week, we check out Detroit Consortium who took on Mt Clemens in the Class C Boys Hoops Quarterfinal. See just how silent but deadly Josh Jackson really is for the Cougars as he puts the 22-2 battling bathers to the test.
Lastly, State Champs! has sponsored up with Muscle Milk once again for an amazing promotion this time for our Michigan High School baseball players. Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler joins the team to promote the Muscle Milk heavy hitters program aimed to celebrate and recognize one weekly standout on the diamond. All recognized players will receive a trophy, be featured on the state champs website and have an automatic entry into the inaugural muscle milk home run derby. Put it in the record book, that’s the State Champs show this week. Warmer weather is coming, we can feel it in the air! But in the mean time, as the snow melts and rain sweeps over the state to prepare for May flowers, get out the rain coats and umbrellas and remember if it’s SUNDAY, it’s STATE CHAMPS!
