Practice Makes Perfect, It's Finals Time On State Champs!

Can you believe with all this snow on the ground the technical first day of spring is only a week away? Not to mention Tigers baseball and all of our awesome high school spring sports.

But before we worry about the snow melting and temperatures heating up, State Champs! has your back with all the state championships happening in ALL sports around the mitt.

This week we put a focus on boys and girls hockey, swimming, gymnastics and a little boys basketball action.

On the ice at Compuware Arena, you're not going to want to miss Catholic Central taking on Brighton for the division 1 hockey title. It's a game that'll have you cheering from your couch as the trophy is presented to one honorary player.

In division 2, Trenton looks to get their 25th win on the record books as well as the hardware when they take on Hartland. Lastly, in D3, Farmington puts Sault Ste. Marie to the boards as the two fight for their division title on the ice.

Though girls hockey isn't sanctioned by the MHSAA, State Champs! will still always cover their state championship! Our cameras were rolling on the rink as Cranbrook took on Liggett for the D1 trophy. In division 2 the combined team from Plymouth, Canton and Salem hit the ice to take on Regina.

Continuing with girls sports, 13 teams traveled to Plymouth high school for the 2014 team gymnastics finals. Find out if the host school can take it all home or if Grand Ledge or Farmington United will steal the matt.

We're only halfway through the show, get ready to jump in the pool for some division 1, 2 and 3 swimming state finals as the competitions took place at Saginaw Valley, Eastern Michigan and Holland Aquatics.

As always, Tom Markowski of the Detroit News comes in studio with Lorne Plant for the Inside Buzz to talk about how the Detroit public school leagues and Detroit charter school leagues are partnering up.

But before we put the show in the books, our main event takes us outside of state championships for a battle on the hardwood as Romulus takes on Ypsilanti for some Class A Boys Basketball.

What a show! 10 games full of highlights and it's all for you! So sit back, relax, grab that remote and set the DVR because if it's Sunday! It's STATE CHAMPS!
