The spring sports training season may have begun this week but this week state champs! is putting all our focus on the winter sports that are wrapping up all around Michigan.

Championships and playoffs filled the air the past two weeks and we’ve got you covered! Get your bowling shoes out and stretch out your arms, Lorne Plant has our local teams and individuals did in Division 1.

We also hit the Palace of Auburn Hills last weekend to show you those tough arm-bars, choke holds and cradles at the individual wrestling state finals.

On the basketball court, we bring you a hard fought Class A Regional Girls Basketball Final between Detroit King and Mercy. You don’t want to miss who advances to next week!

Continuing on the hardwood, our cameras were rolling at the Renaissance vs University of Detroit Jesuit boys basketball district playoff game that took place out in Farmington.

As always, Tom Markowski of the Detroit News and State Champs! very own Lorne Plant sit down in studio for the Buzz. Find out who Tom thinks will WIN Mr. Basketball.

Ashley Raymond will also give you a look inside the Division 1, 2 and 3 competitive cheerleading state championship at the Delta Plex. Find out what team takes home back to back titles.

Moral to the story, spring is in the air. All of us here at State Champs! can feel it! So stick it out! Your thermometer will be hitting the mid-forties this week and before you know it it’ll be summer. So sit back, relax and grab the remote because if it’s noon on Sunday — it’s STATE CHAMPS!

The previous week’s show is available on-demand by Monday afternoon.
