Mother nature might have got a little confused outside this week but on the hardwood and the rinks around Southeast Michigan, high school athletics teams knows exactly what’s going on.

This week, State Champs! Sports Network takes you inside an extremely close and hard-fought girls basketball game between Mercy vs Marian. You don’t want to miss this miracle steal giving one team the Catholic League A-B title.

On the rink, lace up the skates and don’t forget the pads, we’ve got all the highlights from the Catholic Central vs Orchard Lake St Mary’s rivalry hockey game. Not to mention, OLSM has one talented player vying for the top spot in our 2014 Warrior Sport High School Hockey Player of the Year race.

Back on the courts it’s all about rivalries. Troy Athens travels cross town to Troy in hopes to be named THE best basketball team in Troy. The Redhawks coming in with an 11-4 record and Colts at a 12-4. We’re even mixing in a little snowboarding this week. Our cameras were rolling at the MHSSA Boardercross state finals.

Tom Markowski of the Detroit News and State Champs! very own Lorne Plant get in detail on this weeks Buzz talking about the effect on numerous school that may be closing their doors for good.

But before we toss the show in the record books, we follow the Mt Clemens boys basketball team over to the west side of the mitt at Muskegon for some Boys Hoops as our Main Event.

The WINTER sports seasons may be wrapping up but STATE CHAMPS! goes ALL school year long! Make sure to connect with us on Twitter @statechampsnet and remember to like us on Facebook. Remember, when the clock strikes noon on Sunday it’s always STATE CHAMPS!

The previous week’s show is available on-demand by Monday afternoon.
