The Winter Fun Heats Up as The Street Team Chills Out at The Winter Blast

The CW50 Street Team heads out to Downtown Detroit for the Winter Blast at Campus Martius Park. Ice Skating, roasting marshmallows, snow slides, and carnival rides were just some of the many family themed attractions at the Winter Blast. Many Metro Detroiters came out to see what this winter festival had to offer. Families could enjoy live music in all of the heating tents, as local shop owners sold goods and crafts. There was also no shortage of food as people could dine on corn dogs, elephant ears, french fries, and s'mores. When Jen Buhaj asked fest goer Lynn Nieporte, what type of marshmallow makes the best s'more? Without hesitation Lynn answered, "professionally speaking the burnt ones!"

Street Team member Jen also caught up with Corderio Johnson, who expressed his fondness for the Winter Blast and what the event means to the city of Detroit. "This is definitely one of the great aspects of Detroit... I love that we have big events like this... it's actually warm today so it's a great day to go and bring your family ice skating."

Adults and children of all ages had a great time at the Winter Blast making it one of the biggest highlights of the  winter season. The environment of fun, family, and friendship makes the Motown Winter Blast an event to put on your calendars year after year.
