The CW50 Street Team Gets in the Holiday Spirit at the Ferndale Ice Festival!

Winter had clearly arrived as people gathered in downtown Ferndale for the annual Holiday Ice Festival. Despite the snowy weather and cold temperatures, people were clearly in the holiday spirit as they came out to celebrate the season and view over 50 ice sculptures. Children and their parents were amazed at the details of the ice carvings, and were even able to witness the live carving of a buffalo! People participating in the event were also able to see live reindeer and have their pictures taken with Santa.

The CW50 Street Team headed downtown to take part in the festivities. The Street Team's Krystle Anderson stopped to talk with Ferndale's DDA Executive Director, Christina Sheppard-Decius. Christina proudly discussed all of the activities taking place downtown, and said that there were over 50 Superhero-themed ice sculptures on display along the streets of Ferndale. But it wasn't the ice sculptures that drew festival attendee Jennifer Allen and her daughter Cadence to the festival. When asked about what brought her and her daughter out to the event, Jennifer said "We were driving past it and Cadence saw the reindeer so we had to come and see them!"

To escape the snow and the cold, families headed over to Buffalo Wild Wings to enjoy a luncheon with Santa. Kids were starstruck by the man in the big red suit as he made his way to each and every table to take pictures with all of the families. The kids were also able to join in and sing classic Christmas songs with a couple of ladies singing at the restaurant.

The CW50 Street Team was happy to chill with everyone at the Ice Festival!
