Gospel Star Raises Stroke Awareness

Detroit's newest Gospel star Tasha Page-Lockhart took a few minutes out of her busy day to do a phone interview with CW50.  She juggled fans and photo opportunities as well as her phone as she rushed through the airport on her way out of town for an appearance.

Since winning the title of "Sunday Best" on BET's hit gospel music show competition, Page-Lockhart said "My life changed tremendously. I am traveling every week now… It's much different."

Page-Lockhart will be back in Detroit for another appearance this Saturday.  She joins Donald Lawrence and Company and some of Detroit's best choirs for an evening of inspirational praise at the American Heart Association's Most Powerful Voices Christmas Concert and Health Expo on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Greater Grace Temple, located at 23500 West 7 Mile Rd. in Detroit.

Page-Lockhart has a personal connection with heart issues that makes this cause important to her.  Her grandfather died last year from heart-related issues.

"People should come to the event this holiday to be encouraged and uplifted," said Page- Lockhart. "It's for a good cause to help educate people on being healthy."

This free event begins with a health expo at 5 p.m. followed by the concert at 7 p.m.

Page-Lockhart will sing "I Will Call Upon The Lord" and some of the song's she sang during the BET competition.
