Embracing fall begins with indulging in all the favorite and new things the season has to offer, especially when it comes to fashion. Preparing stylish fashion for Fall is as simple as mixing and matching the new and old. This season it's all about borrowing from seasonal fashion staples while picking up a few new items to create the latest trend looks.

There are plenty of fabulous, new trends for a fashionista to love for fall 2013. Among the largest trends for the season are: statement outerwear and 90's grunge with modern twists. Each of these trends offers freshness for the season and can easily be made into wearable and fashionable daily looks.

As the temperatures tend to cool off, outerwear becomes even more essential for the season. However, a simple coat or jacket is so last season. This year it's all about stylish, grand outerwear. Bottega Veneta, Lanvin, and Prada were only a few of the dozen designers that made outerwear the focal point in their Fall collections.

Bold, statement outerwear is one of the hottest trends and is definitely a must. Some of the major ways designers are using outerwear to make a statement for autumn is by making them colorful, oversized, adding big fur accents, or even adding big outskirts with accented waist lines to create dramatic effects.

The keyword for picking statement outerwear is "eye-catching. " It should also stand as its own look. Bold outerwear is best paired with simple pieces such as a pair of jeans or leggings with booties or a pair of slacks with a feminine blouse and pumps.

Accessorizing can be fun but remember less is more with this look. Statement outerwear is sure take that stylish look on-the-go to a new level of chic.

Outerwear is not the only thing that is trending this season. The 90's is re-emerging onto the fashion scene in the playful yet stylish trend of grunge. In the past, grunge was all about slouchy, clothing mixed with boring plaid patterns and clunky shoes.

However, this time around, designers have revamped the 90's fashion trend by pairing fitted jackets, pants, and skirts with colorful, interesting patterns. Leather is a main component of grunge this season too but designers have also introduced softer fabrics and elements (such as tweed and velvet) into the mix.

There is also a varied mixture of shape silhouettes being used to highlight the trend. Junya Watanabe and Rodarte are two designers that cleverly create edgy, feminine grunge looks that are modern and completely wearable in their collection.

Grunge is an easy and fun look to create. Start with the basics. Try pairing patterned stockings or leggings with a blue jean skirt, a colored leather jacket and accessorized with a pair stylish booties, and autumn scarf or hat to finish the look. The goal is to play with different textures and layers to pull together the rebellious look.

Fall 2013 trends can essentially be styled by using familiar items such as leather jackets, sweaters, boots, and warm colors in new ways. It's all about texture, layers, shaping, and color for autumn.

When shopping for these looks, check out Incognito and Dolce Moda in Royal Oak. Both stores offer some major items for assembling Fall fashion. Relying on fashion instinct and staying true to one's style is the best guide to pulling off any look. Keep these trends and tips in mind to create the best style for fall 2013.
