The CW50 Street Team Celebrates African American Culture

It was a beautiful sunny day out today. The CW50 Street Team hit the streets and arrived at the Charles H. Wright Museum for the 31st Annual African World Festival. With this year's theme, "Rising to the Top", the event is a celebration of heritage and culture. The community gets a chance to come out and witness what African American Culture is all about; from visual arts, books, hand crafts, apparel and accessories.

The AWF brought out a lot of people. Individuals came out to show their respect to their heritage and enjoy what the event has to offer; while others were curious and wanted to know more about African American Culture. Street Team Members, Aaron and Jen enjoyed their time at the event. Jen was captured playing the drum and two CW50 fans held one of our signs shouting "We Love Cw50". The Charles H. Wright Museum's Operational Manager, Drake Phifer, was pleased with this year's turnout. "It is an excited time for Detroit...and for families to come out and enjoy," said Phifer.

Arts, books, hand crafts, apparel and accessories were all available at the AWF. The event is for everyone! So if you missed out this year, come out next year! The CW50 Street Team had an amazing time.
