The CW50 Street Team Steps Out To Take Steps For Metro Detroit's Crohns And Colitis Event

Family and friends came out walking for a great cause today! Meininger Park, in downtown Royal Oak, was filled with colorful orange shirts in support of the Take Steps Metro Detroit for Crohns and Colitis event. The purpose of the event is to inform and raise money in hopes of curing digestive diseases in the future. Adults and kids put on their best walking shoes and walked around downtown Royal Oak; showing when communities comes together things can get done. Dr. Don, from WYCD 99.5 Detroit's Country, was at the event with his "Smartasses" team and Smudgie, the event's mascot. Smudgie couldn't resist holding and dance with our Charlie Sheen poster.

People were excited to see the CW50 Street Team. Participants walked pass cheering with enthusiasm and were glad to be at the event. Even the Southfield Lathrup Falcons Cheer Team screamed and shout "We Love CW50" for us! Dr. Don, one of our favorite radio personalities and a sufferer of digestive disease was kind enough to stop by and speak with Street Team Member Scotty! "While it's a very serious disease you have to have a sense of humor when it involves your bowels," said Dr. Don.

The Take Steps Metro Detroit for Crohns and Colitis event was a success. The sun was out shining and kids and adults enjoyed coming out to help fund-raise money for digestive diseases. For more information on Crohns and Colitis disease, please visit www.ccfa.org.
