Orion Music + More Festival
This summer, Metallica is bringing the second annual Orion Music + More Festival to the Detroit area! The Festival will take place on Belle Isle, June 8 & 9, 2013. Several big names will be there including Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Bassnectar…and performing alongside these big name acts, don’t miss local favorites The Dirtbombs, Battlecross, and Calico. Oakaloosa is a new one-day festival event happening at Detroit’s Historic Fort Wayne on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Headlining this new festival are Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Girl Talk. Joining them on the bill will be ten other acts based out of Detroit – including rising stars Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas and Kaleido. This festival aims to be inclusive and diverse in its line-up of artists to attract people who want to have a good time rather than catering to a particular taste or genre. MO POP Festival
MO POP Festival is a brand new festival…and one that’s about more than just music. The event includes also features “mo” beer, food, and art. This one-day festival is on August 17th at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre, and boasts a line-up of big indie names like Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Andrew Bird, Manchester Orchestra, and more. Local favorites Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Jamaican Queens will round out the line-up, and trust us – these are two bands you won’t want to miss!
